Get [Wine &] Cheese-y with our August Hosted at Home

It’s a single-vineyard celebration and it’s going to be cheddar than ever! Yes, the cheesy one-liners are back for a third summer, along with August Hosted at Home Co-Hosts, EnRoute Winemaker Michael Accurso and Jasper Hill Farm’s Zoe Brickley. This is one of our favorite Hosted at Home tastings, and not just because it’s oozing with amazing cheese and wine pairings (and even cheesier food and wine puns). Michael and Zoe are both extremely passionate about their crafts, and they love sharing that passion with others.

We hope you’ll join our favorite curd nerd – and our resident wine geek – for a brie-lliant afternoon of food, wine and conversation. As a reminder, the August Happy Hour Tasting will be held on August 13 at 4:00 PM Pacific.

Want to taste along with us? We're already shipping three outstanding single-vineyard wines to our Hosted at Home members' doorsteps. In addition, Zoe hand-selected a trio of cheeses to complement each of these single-vineyard selections. Jasper Hill Farms included the trio in a custom cheese box made exclusively for our August virtual tasting. This upgraded box is also packed with Flatbread Crackers, Savory Onion Jam, and French-style dry cured Salami for a full spread. Reserve yours by August 8, then check out Zoe’s expert wine and cheese pairing tips below.

Zoe Brickley's Summer Wine and Cheese Picks

Jasper Hill Farm's Whitney with Nickel & Nickel Truchard VineyardChardonnay, Carneros, NapaValley. This Raclette style raw cow's milk cheese washed with wine lees is semi-firm with an incredibly smooth texture and approachable flavors. Its aromas of toasted nuts and cured ham float on a buttery richness. While this delectable, versatile cheese could play a supporting role to any of the August Hosted at Home wines, love how it complements Truchard Vineyards’ full, silky texture, and draws out this fruit-forward wine’s vanilla undertones.

Jasper Hill Farm's Harbison with Nickel & Nickel John C. Sullenger VineyardCabernet Sauvignon, Oakville, Napa Valley. Our spreadable textured cheese is as beautiful as it is delicious, with a soft bloomy rind and a belt of natural spruce that was harvested from local woodlands. The woodsy spruce notes meld beautifully with the toasted oak aromas of this Oakville Cabernet, while the complexities of both make for a perfect intensity match.

Jasper Hill Farm's Cabot Clothbound with EnRoute Northern Spy Vineyard Pinot Noir. Our Clothbound, a traditional cheddar, is deeply savory with salt-caramel sweetness bolstered by a structured brightness and crystalline texture. This cheese is incredibly compatible for pairing; its mouthwatering brothiness can balance moderate tannins and hold up next to wines with bold elegance.
