Assistant Director of Wine Club, Far Niente Wine Estates

Our Assistant Director of Wine Club plays a key role in supporting the success of Far Niente Wine Estates' Wine Club programs by executing operational processes, mentoring staff, and providing a high-touch member experience. This role supports both strategic initiatives and daily functions to drive club growth, member retention, and exceptional customer service.
You will be successful in this role while performing these essential responsibilities:
Operational Oversight & Team Support (35%)
- Supervise daily wine club operations in alignment with established protocols and provide support to Wine Club Specialists.
- Help manage club shipment logistics including fulfillment checklists, order accuracy, and SKU alignment.
- Ensure timely responses to customer inquiries and order resolution, coordinating with customer service when necessary.
Customer Engagement & Retention (20%)
- Engage directly with wine club members via phone, email, SMS, and in-person tastings or events to strengthen relationships and support retention goals.
- Assist in identifying attrition risks and implementing proactive outreach campaigns to improve loyalty.
- Host or support wine club events, helping with logistics, guest interaction, and sales.
Team Development & Training (20%)
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of wine club staff in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Wine Clubs and Customer Service.
- Provide coaching and guidance to ensure high service standards and promote a sales-oriented team culture.
Sales & Performance Tracking (15%)
- Assist in implementing strategies to meet or exceed monthly membership and wine sales targets.
- Monitor club performance metrics, analyze trends, and share insights with the Senior Manager.
- Promote upsell opportunities and seasonal offerings in coordination with broader DTC efforts.
Cross Departmental Coordination (10%)
- Collaborate with marketing, visitor center teams, and events staff to ensure alignment on club initiatives, promotions, and communication.
- Support the execution of member communications, shipment inserts, and website updates.

You will be qualified for this role if you meet these requirements:
- Previous experience of 5 years in winery, hospitality and / or luxury sales, management, or operational experience.
- Multi-channel consumer direct expertise including in-person retail sales, wine club or related loyalty programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, Public Relations, Marketing or similar.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team. Well-respected, positive, team-oriented professional, Sound judgement and integrity.
- Microsoft office / POS systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- CA DL Good DMV record.
This is a hybrid office position, but there are some physical requirements that our large estate requires:
Full body mobility. Ability to lift to 45 lbs. Ability to stand, sit for extended periods of time, squat, bend, stoop, crouch repeatedly and ascend and descend stairs.
