Events Manager, Far Niente Wine Estates

Founded in Oakville, California in 1885 and restored in 1979, Far Niente is consistently recognized as a benchmark producer of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Oakville Estate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our team is expanding to support our growing portfolio.The Events Manager focuses on the planning, coordination, and execution of private, corporate, and other revenue-generating events, with a primary emphasis on events that drive profitability and enhance brand visibility.

This role also provides essential support for wine club events, philanthropic initiatives, and wholesale gatherings, ensuring a cohesive and premium experience across all event types.

You will be successful in this role while performing these essential responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of paid events, including initial inquiries, proposals, contracts, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their vision and ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from booking through post-event follow-up.
  • Host site visits and tastings to showcase event spaces and offerings.
  • Address and resolve client concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage external vendors, including caterers, rental companies, and entertainment providers.
  • Ensure all vendors meet established timelines and quality expectations.
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise to maintain a seamless guest experience.

Manage staff assignments and schedules during events.

  • Oversee event timelines, vendor coordination, and on-site operations for paid, wine club, philanthropic, and wholesale events.
  • Supervise venue setup, décor, catering, and other event-day logistics to ensure success.
  • Prepare detailed BEOs (run of show) and collaborate with marketing on event promotions.
  • Create and track budgets for each event, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Monitor event profitability and provide reports to the Director of Events.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of philanthropic events, maintaining alignment with brand values.
  • Provide logistical and operational support for wholesale partner events, ensuring consistent quality and experience.
  • Conduct evaluations to capture client feedback and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and insights to support continuous refinement of paid events.

You will be qualified for this role if you meet these requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning, preferably in luxury private or corporate events.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with experience noted above.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-service mindset. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a highly functioning team.
  • Strong understanding of event logistics and operations. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a focus on operational detail and consumer satisfaction. Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver high-quality, cost-effective events.

This is a hybrid office position, but there are some physical requirements that our large estate requires:

Full body mobility.Ability to lift to 45lbs. Ability to stand,sit for extended periods of time, and ascend and descend stairs. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
