Trade Marketing Manager, Far Niente Wine Estates
Bring Luxury Wine Brands to Life in the Marketplace
Far Niente Wine Estates is looking for a Trade Marketing Manager who understands that great brands are built not only through compelling stories, but through exceptional execution in the marketplace.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded marketer who knows the wine business, understands the three-tier system, and thrives at the intersection of Brand Marketing, Sales, distributors and customers.
As our Trade Marketing Manager, you will serve as the primary Marketing partner to our Wholesale Sales organization, translating the strategy and positioning of the Far Niente Wine Estates portfolio into programs that drive distribution, visibility, trial and rate of sale across on- and off-premise channels.
You will help give our Sales teams and distributor partners the tools, programs and stories they need to win—while ensuring every activation reflects the quality and luxury positioning of our brands.
What You'll Do
Turn Brand Strategy into Commercial Action
• Translate annual brand strategies and commercial priorities into compelling trade programs that drive distribution, visibility and velocity.
• Partner with Sales leadership to understand market, distributor and customer needs and turn those insights into scalable programs.
• Develop customized programming for priority national and regional accounts, channels and selling occasions.
• Build a strong understanding of key customers, promotional calendars and opportunities to increase our presence in the marketplace.
Be a Strategic Partner to Sales
• Serve as the primary Marketing resource for Wholesale Sales, distributors and key accounts.
• Develop high-impact selling tools including presentations, sell sheets, selling stories, trade education materials, tasting tools and customer-specific presentations.
• Support distributor meetings, business reviews, new item launches, key account presentations and priority selling periods.
• Help ensure our Sales teams have current, compelling and easy-to-use resources that strengthen their ability to sell the Far Niente Wine Estates portfolio.
Create Impact at the Customer & Consumer Level
• Develop account- and retailer-specific point-of-sale materials, displays, menus, signage, shelf materials and other activation tools.
• Partner with Sales on programs designed to secure displays, features, menu placements, trial and increased visibility.
• Manage retailer-specific marketing programs and platforms, including shelf-edge and retail media opportunities.
• Ensure programs meet customer requirements while maintaining our brand standards and luxury positioning.
Build the Next Generation of Trade Tools
• Develop digital selling resources including digital sell sheets, presentations, retailer content, product imagery, QR-enabled materials and short-form video.
• Help maintain an organized, accessible library of Sales-facing marketing assets.
• Partner with Digital and Creative resources to continually improve how our commercial teams’ access and use content.
Own the Execution
This role isn't just about developing ideas—you'll make them happen.
• Manage projects from concept through production and in-market execution.
• Create and adapt routine trade materials using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Coordinate vendors, estimates, proofs, production schedules and quality control.
• Manage trade marketing inventory, replenishment and fulfillment.
• Oversee assigned budgets, purchase orders, invoices and expense tracking.
• Establish measures of success and develop post-program recaps to understand what worked, what we learned and where we should invest next.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines wine knowledge, commercial instincts, creativity and exceptional execution.
Ideally, you bring:
• 5+ years of experience in trade marketing, customer marketing, commercial marketing or a related role within the wine or beverage alcohol industry.
• Experience working directly with Sales organizations, distributors, national or regional accounts and retail customers.
• Strong understanding of the U.S. three-tier distribution system and on-premise, off-premise, independent and chain environments.
• Strong wine knowledge, including varietals, appellations, vintages, wine regions and the competitive landscape.
• Experience developing customer- and channel-specific commercial programs.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat; InDesign and Photoshop experience is a plus.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities.
• Familiarity with retailer-specific POS, shelf-edge media and activation platforms such as Vestcom, Neptune or similar programs is a plus.
• The ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, vendors and deadlines without losing sight of the details.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to turn wine knowledge, brand strategy and business objectives into compelling selling stories.
Who Will Thrive Here
You may be a great fit if you are someone who:
• Thinks like a marketer but understands how Sales wins.
• Can move comfortably between strategy and hands-on execution.
• Takes ownership and follows projects through to completion.
• Builds strong relationships across functions and earns credibility with Sales teams.
• Is responsive, organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
• Brings ideas forward and is open to respectful debate and better ways of working.
• Uses data and commercial results to continually improve programs.
• Has a genuine passion for wine and understands the importance of protecting and elevating luxury brands.
The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence how the Far Niente Wine Estates portfolio shows up in markets, with distributors and at some of our most important customers across the country.
You'll join a team where Marketing and Sales partnership matters, where strong ideas are expected to translate into strong execution, and where you'll have the opportunity to help some of Napa Valley's most recognized luxury wine brands continue to grow.
If you're energized by the combination of wine, luxury brands, commercial strategy and marketplace execution, we'd love to hear from you.
