“This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 21 months in 55% new French oak. The Fog Break Vineyard, located on Atlas Peak, encompasses several blocks totalling approximately 4.8ha, situated a stone’s throw southeast of Stagecoach Vineyard. Set in classic red volcanic soils at elevations exceeding 365m, the vines struggle in this challenging environment, producing small, intensely flavoured berries. The wine is beautifully perfumed, offering alluring ironstone minerality and floral aromatics, with cassis, leather, tobacco, and fig notes. Full-bodied and layered, it features extremely muscular, yet perfumed, mountain tannins that provide structure and grip. Purple floral nuances and impressive intensity carry through to a long, satisfying finish — a mighty, expressive mountain Cabernet Sauvignon with remarkable depth and complexity.”
