“The balance of power and finesse here is impressive, undoubtedly mountainous and volcanic in character. The full-bodied palate has no hard edges, showing melting tannins and focused acidity that lead to a mouthwatering mineral finish. From grapes grown at 1,600 feet. Powerful and pure with plenty of time ahead in the bottle, yet delicious now. Drink or hold.”

“All from a site on Howell Mountain, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beatty Ranch is wonderfully complete and satisfying, offering ample ripe black fruits, smoked tobacco, graphite, and cedar pencil nuances that develop beautifully as it sits in the glass. These carry to a full-bodied, concentrated, layered 2023 that has beautiful overall balance, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Give it 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink 2027-2047.”

The palate possesses rich tannin and plush acidity framing flavors of cassis, blackberry jam, plum skin, and dark chocolate across the long finish. Delicious now, this will soften nicely in the cellar for a decade or more.”
