“Lovely depth and perfume here, showing aromas of black currants, potpourri, blackberries, violets and spices. The palate is firmly framed by refined tannins, with bright acidity, luscious dark-fruit flavors and a mineral-edged, mouthwatering finish. Flamboyant and generous. Drink or hold.”

“Aged for 20 months in 55% new French oak, this wine is sourced from the 12ha State Ranch Vineyard, north-east of Yountville, just off State Lane Road. Aromatics of wet stone and wild berry are layered with sagebrush and lifted red floral notes, all building with impressive density and drive on the palate, yet retaining freshness. Full-bodied and commanding, it is shaped by mineral-rich tannins that are firm yet inviting. Even at this early stage, the wine is remarkably generous, offering ripe fruit dusted with cocoa powder through the lengthy finish.”
