Premier Ground Shipping is designed to protect wine quality through temperature-controlled transport at approximately 55°F, shielding it from extreme weather during transit. The wine travels across states in the same refrigerated truck, minimizing handling and reducing the risk of breakage. Once it reaches the destination gateway hub, ice packs are added, and the package is released for final delivery within 1–2 days. As soon as the package is scanned by the carrier, a notification with updated tracking information will be sent, so the delivery status can be easily followed. Premier
Ground Shipping is the most economical and safest year-round option, carefully designed to ensure the wine arrives protected, properly stored, and ready to enjoy.
Key Insight: Temp Control consistently outperforms Air across all analyzed datasets in terms of first-time delivery success rate. First-time delivery success rates are 85.4% for Temp Control (premium ground), 91.8% for short zone ground, 79.2% for long zone ground, and 81.5% for air. Approximately 40–70% of Wineshipping’s monthly volume is via Temperature Control.
Please note: Uncompromised wine delivery is dependent on success on the first try. Please ensure that someone can sign for the delivery and choose a business address whenever possible. Delivering to an access point is the best way to avoid multiple delivery attempts. Confirm return home date before shipping.

ELIGIBLE STATES: Available via WineShipping using FedEx or UPS to the following states: Alabama (AL), Oklahoma (OK), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Tennessee (TN), South Carolina (SC), Texas (TX) (24 additional eligible states will be added soon)
HOW IT WORKS:
• On Friday the shipment begins to travel from California to a regional carrier hub in refrigerated trailers maintained around 55°F.
• Current hubs are located in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA. (We will be adding Northern Route with hubs in Earth City, MO and Cobleskill, NY soon).
• At the hub, ice packs are added, and the shipment is transferred to FedEx or UPS for final delivery.
• Final delivery typically is on regular Ground trucks and occurs within 1–2 days, and customers receive updated tracking once the carrier scans the package.
• Ice packs may arrive melted, which is normal. Their purpose is to keep wine at a consistent temperature. If corks are intact and bottles are not leaking, the wine was protected properly.
RESTRICTIONS: Premier Ground cannot be used if the wine is packaged in a gift box. We cannot add ice packs to gift sets.
