From silky Pinot Noir to rich, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon, our collection of red wines showcases the best of Napa Valley winemaking.

House of Far Niente’s Red Blends showcase the depth and artistry of Napa Valley, weaving together varietals into wines that are both expressive and refined. Layers of blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry are complemented by notes of cocoa, warm spice, and subtle oak. Supple, well-integrated tannins and a long, balanced finish create blends that are both approachable in their youth and worthy of the cellar.

Far Niente Wine Estates produces red wines across our family of Napa Valley wineries, each with a distinct point of view. Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, and Bella Union each craft Cabernet Sauvignon — from estate blends to single-vineyard expression — and EnRoute makes Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley. Every wine reflects a unique terroir and our shared commitment to producing wines of the highest quality.
Most red wines are dry. The natural grape sugars are converted to alcohol during fermentation, and the richness or fruit-forward character you taste comes from the variety, the vineyard, and the cellar — not residual sugar. Every red wine across Far Niente Wine Estates is made dry, with structure, balance, and a clear expression of Napa Valley terroir at the center.
Red wine is best stored on its side in a cool, dark place at a steady temperature between 55 and 65°F (13–18°C), away from light, vibration, and shifting humidity. This matters especially for age-worthy bottles like Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel Cabernet Sauvignon, which can evolve meaningfully in the cellar. A dedicated wine cellar or temperature-controlled cabinet is ideal for long-term cellaring.
Most red wines show best between 60 and 65°F (15–18°C). Lighter reds like Pinot Noir prefer a cooler pour, closer to 55 to 60°F. Too warm and the wine can read flat or alcoholic; too cold and its aromatics become dull. Few small changes make a more meaningful difference at the table than taking the extra moment to serve a wine at the right temperature.
The right pairing depends on the wine. Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel Cabernet Sauvignon pair well with grilled and braised red meats, aged cheeses, and savory, slow-cooked dishes. EnRoute Pinot Noir flatters salmon, duck, roasted chicken, and earthier plates like mushroom risotto. Across our reds the guiding principle is the same: pour what honors the wine and lifts the meal.
