A mild March coupled with proactive vineyard management during the summer's high heat produced wines with balanced acidity and great flavors.

The 2022 growing season began with an exceptionally mild March budbreak. By May, vines showed strong shoot growth and average yields ahead of mid-July veraison. Proactive vineyard management, including shade cloths and misting systems, mitigated the impact of summer heat spikes, maintaining great quality. Harvest began on August 22, with grapes showing excellent balanced acidity, freshness, and great flavors. This careful management ensured an overall successful and flavorful harvest season.

Southern Napa’s cool climate yields wines with bright, balanced flavors.

Located in southern Napa Valley, cool marine winds from the San Pablo Bay and Petaluma Gap provide a consistently cool climate with summertime temperatures reaching above 80 degrees, which presents wines with bright acidity and balanced fruit flavors.

Harvested from Grand Sky Vineyard

Grand Sky Vineyard sits along the northern tip of Carneros as you enter Congress Valley. The incredible vista is the inspiration for the vineyard’s name—Grand Sky. The rolling and dramatic hills are composed of well-drained soils from the Great Valley soil sequence, ranging between 66 million years and 145 million years old. The vineyard’s location and cool climate allow for slow, even ripening, producing a wine that is both fruity and well-balanced with structured acidity.
