Bella Union's Second Artist in Residence: Eduardo Sarabia

About Eduardo Sarabia
Born in Los Angeles in 1976 and based in Guadalajara, Eduardo Sarabia creates art where myth, material, and memory converge. Working across painting, ceramics, sculpture, and installation, he charts the unseen routes linking Mexico’s landscapes to ancestral stories and contemporary life.
Blending autobiography with archetype, Sarabia transforms family legends of buried treasure into reflections on trade, faith, and desire. His ceramic vessels and painted symbols evoke both pre-Columbian craft and modern contraband, revealing how personal and collective histories intertwine.
Sarabia invites viewers into a living landscape where memory, migration, and renewal continually shape one another.

Across painting, sculpture, and ceramic installation, Eduardo Sarabia fuses personal memory with collective mythology. His works speak to the enduring bond between landscape and lineage—how the terrain we inherit continues to shape the stories we tell.
