“Undoubtedly Howell Mountain in character, with a volcanic, brooding feel. Aromas of black currants, wild blackberries, violets, wet river stones and spices lead to a palate that is powerful and structured yet refined and intertwined, with fine boned but firm tannins and mouthwatering acidity. Give this some time in the bottle for a full reward, though there is plenty of flash in youth. Drink or hold.”
