The 2022 Amber Ridge Pinot Noir harvest began in August and produced bold, concentrated wines.
The 2022 Amber Ridge Pinot Noir harvest began with the 667 clone on August 18, followed by the Calera clone the next day. A warm summer in the Russian River Valley's Middle Reach area brought great concentration and boldness. The Pommard and 115 clones finished the harvest by late August, before September heat waves. Each block was separately fermented in small open-top fermenters and then aged undisturbed in French oak barrels for 16 months.
EnRoute Pinot Noir Club
For our loyal EnRoute fans and Pinot Noir lovers.
Our path to discover wines of finesse rivaling Burgundy’s best.
Russian River Valley is revered for its lush, rolling topography, fertile soils and proximity to the Pacific Coast. Nurtured by cool marine breezes and sun-warmed afternoons, the region is home to some of the world’s most sought-after Pinot Noir.
Harvested from Amber Ridge Vineyard
Located off Starr Road, this 22-acre vineyard is the warmest site from which we source fruit. Although temperatures rarely exceed 90°F, the vineyard enjoys extended mornings and evenings with clear, warm skies. Fog, the hallmark of the Russian River Valley, begins its early morning recession towards the coast, starting at the northern end of the valley and then returning in the late afternoon from the south. This seasonal fog pattern can allow for up to three extra hours of sunlight and warmth when compared to our vineyards just 12 miles away on the southern end of the valley.
