The 2023 season began with a cold winter, delayed budbreak, and bright flavors after August heat.
The 2023 growing season began with a cold, wet winter extending into early spring, bringing cooler temperatures and increased precipitation compared to recent years. This delayed budbreak, but mild weather through June supported careful vineyard development. The first 100°F day was on July 1st, and despite August warming trends, Growing Degree Days remained below the 20-year average, slightly delaying the harvest. Mild to moderate August temperatures created optimal conditions for bright and focused flavors.
Southern Napa’s cool climate yields wines with bright, balanced flavors.
Located in southern Napa Valley, cool marine winds from the San Pablo Bay and Petaluma Gap provide a consistently cool climate with summertime temperatures reaching above 80 degrees, which presents wines with bright acidity and balanced fruit flavors.

“Aromas of rich Golden apple and vanilla bean lead to toasty oak, lemon zest, and salty minerality. Vibrant acidity is a focal point, along with a refreshingly bright and clean finish.”
