Made from the finest blocks of our Martin Stelling Vineyard, this highly allocated, limited-production wine is complex and refined, even in youth. It promises to be the star of your cellar.
Aromas of mixed berry, chocolate, light earth and licorice lead into a full entry, with mixed berry flavors, a velvety mid-palate and a great backbone of coating, age-able tannin. Mouthwatering plum and blackberry flavors follow all the way through to the end. Layers of toasted oak are well integrated, adding structure and support to the ripe fruit flavors.
The heart of this wine comes from the Martin Stelling Vineyard around the producer’s property in Oakville and it contains small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec. Smooth edges of tannin and oak melt away on the succulent palate, allowing layers of plum, berry and dark chocolate to impress. —V.B.
