A cool winter, mild spring, and warm summer led to October Botrytis and mid-November harvest.
The 2017 growing season began cool with a much-needed wet winter. The mild spring provided a great start to vine growth, nurtured by April showers. Summer brought waves of warm weather that persisted into fall. The first October rains induced a small amount of Botrytis, triggering an early harvest pass. By mid-November, widespread blooming of the noble rot allowed for a final three-day push to harvest all remaining fruit.

James Suckling
“Deep amber-colored wine with aromas of orange marmalade, apricot tart and honey followed by gingerbread, fruit tea, cardamon and toasted almonds. Very concentrated on the mid-palate with luscious sweetness and mouthwatering acidity that balances out the palate. Enchanting complexity and vitality with layers of exotic spices and flavors. Long and zesty finish. Lots of caramel and oranges. It shows great drinkability but will go much further with age.”
